Alki Co-op Preschool has served West Seattle families for more than 70 years with a child-centered, play-based approach rooted in community, inclusion, and hands-on learning. Now located at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in Delridge, Alki continues its long tradition of supporting children and families through the early years.

At Alki, play is serious learning. Children build social-emotional skills, confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving through imaginative play, art, sensory experiences, science, movement, and outdoor exploration. The goal is not to rush children toward academics, but to give them the time, space, and support to learn through doing.

As part of South Seattle College Cooperative Preschools, families are active participants in the classroom alongside professional teachers and parent educators. That shared experience helps children thrive while giving parents practical tools, stronger connections, and a community to grow with.
